Streetcar and Roman Candy

In 1905 Sam Cortese, and immigrant from Sicily built this mule pulled wagon to sell his taffy candy from his home country. It became a nostalgic New Orleans tradition as thousands of adults recall their childhood memories of hearing the Roman Candy Man ring his bell as he entered their neighborhood. His grandson Ron Kotterman still operates the wagon today.
