Cotton Blossom was a 172-foot long, three-story, sternwheeler paddleboat model, built originally in 1951 for the MGM hit “Show Boat”. According to Keel’s book, the Cotton Blossom was left on the MGM backlot after the film’s completion, not to be rediscovered until the 1970s. The boat was sold in 1973 to the owner of the Worlds of Fun amusement park in Kansas City, Missouri and relocated there for permanent display.
